Grows well in moist well-drained soils and average soils. Will tolerate wet and dry periods but average soils are preferred.

Modest yellow to copper-yellow.

Best planted at least 20-30' away from homes and building structures, half the diameter of a mature Sawtooth oak (40-60' w).
