Full sun (6+ hours) is best.

Grows well in wet soils, moist soils, average soils, and dry soils.  Drought tolerant once established.

Vibrant red to russet-red.

Best planted at least 15-20' away from homes and building structures, half the width of a mature Shumard oak (30-40' w).
