Grows well in wet soils, moist soils, and average soils. Thrives in wetter soils. Will tolerate dry periods once established but moister sites are preferred.

Modest red to russet-red and/or modest yellow to copper-yellow.

Best planted at least 20-25' away from homes and building structures, half the width of a mature Overcup oak (40-50' w).
